夏が終わり、アッパー・イースト・サイドの住人達がバカンスから戻ってきた。ハンフリー家は母シシーの看病で留守にしているリリーの家を守るため、ルーファスとジェニーがマンションへ。ダンはひとりブルックリンの家で静かに過ごす日々…とはいかず、セリーナが新たなゴシップネタと共に帰国。帰ったそばからパパラッチ達に追い掛け回される。家族がバラバラにならないよう、ルーファスはセリーナのフォローに必死。父親を気遣うダンはついついアッパー・イースト・サイドでの生活が中心になるが、そんな彼の様子が親友ヴァネッサには気に入らない。どこかリッチな生活に馴染みつつあるダンに距離を感じ始めたヴァネッサは、最近越して来たばかりの青年スコットに急接近する。が、スコットの方はルーファスが気になって仕方がない様子。 同じ頃、バカンスから帰ったネイトは飛行機で知り合ったブリーという少女と盛り上がっていたが、彼女の名字を聞き、一族の敵、バークリー一家の娘であることを知る。またチャックとブレアはいつまでも刺激的な関係でいようと、危険なゲームを繰り返していた…。
