ジムは陸軍特殊部隊員としてアフガニスタンの過酷な前線で戦っていたが今は退役し、ロサンゼルスに帰還した。未だ戦場での悪夢にうなされながらも、ロサンゼルス警察で仕事を得るため適性検査である心理テストを受けるが、不合格となる。心理テストで知らされたのは、過去に犯した戦争犯罪の記憶。ロス警察からも拒否されたジムが、この状況を打開するためにとった行動とは、同じく失業中でシルヴィアと付き合っているマイクと組み、ドラッグの取引をすることだった。メキシコからドラッグを無事密輸し、取引現場に向かう二人だったが、そこで彼らを待ち受けていたのは……。
