2日後はテイラーの誕生日。ライアンはバイトする店での誕生パーティーを企画しているが、テイラーはパーティーよりもライアンからの「愛してる」の一言が欲しいと思っている。そんな時テイラーにバークレー大学から奨学金の通知が届く。実はニューポートに戻ってすぐ、アメリカ各地の大学に願書を出していたのだ。願書を出したのはライアンと付き合う前だったこともあり、まだ何も話してなかったテイラーは自分もバークレーに行くべきか迷っていた。
