今夜は満月。サルバトーレ家にはアラリックが現れ、「生け贄の儀式は今夜だ」とクラウスからの伝言を言い渡す。生け贄になることを決めたエレナに、イライジャは「500年前カテリーナのために手に入れた」という甦りの薬を差し出す。しかしデイモンはその薬の効果を疑い……。
