レオはベトナムに共に従軍したケン・オニールのパーティーに出席し、ケンとの友情を再確認する。そのケンの会社では、国防総省に軍用ヘリを買ってもらうラムセス計画が進んでいたが、ハント議員の反対にあい、棚上げになっていた。ジョシュがハントに事情を聞きにいってもらちが開かず、レオが直接話にいく。ベトナム戦争に従軍していたレオは、敵の銃撃を受けて緊急脱出した際に脚を骨折。そんなレオを副操縦士だったケンは最後まで見捨てず、共に帰還できたのだった。それを恩義に感じていたレオは、あくまでケンを守ろうとしていた。
