海外ドラマ最新レポート Vol.163　「スーパーナチュラル」のジェンセン・アクレス 「僕だって自分の将来が心配」とインスタで就活明かす

「スーパーナチュラル」は米で現在放送中のシーズン15でフィナーレを迎える。フィナーレが寂しいのはファンだけではない。出演者やスタッフにとってはその仕事がなくなること。メンタルだけではない、つまりフトコロも寂しくなるのだ。
 
「スーパーナチュラル」のイケメン兄弟とて同じこと。しかし、弟サムを演じるジャレッド・パダレッキは、早々に次の仕事を決めている。日本でも90年代に人気を博したアクション・ドラマシリーズ「炎のテキサス・レンジャー」のリブートだ。ジャレッドは同作で主演と製作総指揮を兼ねるという。チャック・ノリスのイメージの強い同作だが、ジャレッドの演じる新レンジャーも楽しみだ。
 
一方、兄のディーンを演じるジェンセン・アクレスは、新しい仕事をまだ決めていない。妻と義兄弟と一緒に地ビールの会社を経営しているとはいえ、３人の子持ちとあれば、やや不安である。余計なお世話と知りつつも、ジェンセンの仕事探しに気をもむファンも少なくなかったらしい。
 
そんな声に気づいていたのだろうか、ジェンセンは11月3日に自身のインスタグラムを投稿した。
 
「番組（「スーパーナチュラル」）に集中するため、次の仕事探しはいったん止めている。だけどこれから数週間の間に、LAでいくつかミーティングに参加する予定だ。僕だって、自分の将来が心配なんだ！」
 
「スーパーナチュラル」最終シーズンの撮影真っ最中なれど、早く就活を終わらせたいと思うのは当然。
 
ジェンセンはこれまでも就活ばかりに力を入れていたわけではなかった。「スーパーナチュラル」最終シーズンでも第４話の監督を手掛けたほか、友人のミュージシャン、スティーブ・カールソンと二人で音楽デュオ（ラジオ・カンパニー）を結成、11月8日にファーストアルバム「Vol. 1」を発表している。
 
ジェンセンが参加するLAでのミーティングが俳優としてのものなのか、監督なのか、ミュージシャンなのかは分からない。興味も才能も多方面だから、選択肢も多いはずだ。そんなに先にならないうちに、ジェンセンからインスタで良い知らせが届くことだろう。
