海外ドラマ最新レポート Vol.176　「新スタートレック」 出演者は今も仲良し!

番組が終わって15年。だけど出演者はずっと仲良し。そんなほのぼのとしたTVシリーズが「新スタートレック」だ。
 
クリスマス直前の週末、「新スタートレック」の出演者たちが開いたパーティーの記念写真が、「スタートレック」のオフィシャルSNSに投稿された。オフィシャルの一枚からは和やかな雰囲気が伝わるが、ファンにとってたまらないのが、参加していた出演者たちが、それぞれ手持ちのスマホで撮影したらしき一枚を自身のSNSにも投稿していること。
 
ジョナサン・フレイクスは「僕らはファミリー」と右端で微笑む一枚、ブレント・スパイナーは「僕はこっちの写真が好き。みなさん、良いホリデーを」とご挨拶を添えて、そしてレヴァー・バートンも「僕らファミリーから、皆さんへハッピーホリデー」とそれぞれ異なる写真にコメントをつけて投稿している。
 
写真に写る面々も懐かしい。ジョナサンやブレント、レヴァーの他に、マリーナ・サーティス、ゲイツ・マクファーデン、ウィル・ウィートン、マイケル・ドーンら出演者、さらに「スタートレック」シリーズのプロデューサーの一人、リック・バーマンの姿も見える。残念ながら、主役のパトリック・スチュワートは欠席だったようだ。
 
「新スタートレック」全7シーズンが放送されていたのは、1987年から94年。当時は毎日のように撮影で顔を合わせていた仲間たち。当時から仲の良い、円満な撮影現場として知られていたという。
 
TVシリーズ終了後は、『ジェネレーションズ』（1994年）、『ファーストコンタクト』（1996年）、『スタートレック　叛乱』（1998年）、『ネメシス／S.T.X.』（2002年）と4本もの続編映画が製作されている。同シリーズが好評だったことが主な要因だが、出演者の仲が悪ければ映画化など到底無理な話だったに違いない。
 
2020年1月からは「新スタートレック」のスピンオフ「スタートレック：ピカード」が配信スタートする。主演のパトリック・スチュワートの他、ジョナサン・フレイクス、ブレント・スパイナーらも再登場が明らかになっている。
 
古い仲間たちで集ったクリスマス・パーティーも、今年は一段と賑やかだったに違いない。「新スタートレック」の出演者たちにとって、2020年はより刺激的な一年になりそうだ。
