海外ドラマ最新レポート Vol.250　TVシリーズに家族共演が流行？　「NCIS: ニューオーリンズ」主演のスコット・バクラの妻、レギュラー出演決まる

「NCIS: ニューオーリンズ」シーズン7より、司法省の敏腕弁護士リタ・デヴェロー役でチェルシー・フィールドがレギュラー出演することが明らかになった。チェルシーは、主演のスコット・バクラの実生活の妻。もちろんスコット演じるドウェイン・プライドの恋人役での出演となる。
 
チェルシーはシーズン3で初登場。プライドとはかつて恋仲にあったという設定だった。その後も10エピソードにゲスト出演、リタとプライドは関係を再び深めていた。そして最新シーズンとなるシーズン7でプライドを公私で支えるパートナーとして、レギュラーに昇格したのだとか。
 
これもコロナ共存時代の新キャスティングなのだろうか。実生活を共にする家族ならば、撮影時にソーシャルディスタンスを気にする必要がない。恋人や夫婦の設定でラブシーンも躊躇がないわけだ。それが全ての理由とは限らないが、コロナ禍以降、TVシリーズでは家族共演が目立つようになってきた。
 
ジャレッド・パダレッキ（「スーパーナチュラル」）の新ドラマシリーズ「Walker（原題）」では、ジャレッドの亡くなった妻役をジュヌビエーブ・コーティズが演じる。ジャレッドとジュヌビエーブは「スーパーナチュラル」共演が縁で結婚した。「Walker（原題）」で、ジュヌビエーブはレギュラーではないが、回想シーンで登場するという。
 
また、「レイ・ドノヴァン ザ・フィクサー」のエディ・マーサンは、地元英国でTVミニシリーズ「Isolation Stories（原題）」に出演。エディの妻が一部のシーンの撮影監督を務めたほか、夫婦の息子たちも初共演を果たしている。
 
公私混同のキャスティングは、非常事態の苦肉の策。一方、視聴者にとっては、プライベートを垣間見ているような微笑ましい気持ちにさせてくれるものだ。家族共演はこれからも続くのか、気になる流行といえるだろう。
