海外ドラマ最新レポート Vol.319　 ジェンセン・アクレス夫妻が「スーパーナチュラル」プリクエル製作へ

CWのTVドラマシリーズ「スーパーナチュラル」のプリクエル（前日譚）の製作が予定されていることが分かった。「スーパーナチュラル」主演のジェンセン・アクレスと女優で妻のダニール・ハリスが製作総指揮を務める。
 
悪霊と戦う、サムとディーンのウィンチェスター兄弟の物語「スーパーナチュラル」は、米で2005年にスタートし、15シーズン続いた人気シリーズ。2020年に同シリーズは終了したが、以前からスピンオフの製作が待望されていた。プリクエル（前日譚）の仮タイトルは「The Winchesters」。まずパイロット版製作に向けた前段階として、「スーパーナチュラル」の共同製作総指揮者の一人だった、ロビー・トンプソンが「The Winchesters」の脚本を手がけるという。
 
「The Winchesters」の主人公は、兄弟の両親であるウィンチェスター夫妻。ストーリーの語り部として、ナレーションを担当するディーン（ジェンセン・アクレス）の視点を通し、ウィンチェスター夫妻のラブストーリー及び悪霊ハンターとして命を懸けた戦いが始まるまでを描く。
 
「スーパーナチュラル」のスピンオフ案はこれまで2度に渡り浮上してきた。それぞれ本編の1話として、「Supernatural: Bloodlines」（2014）、「Wayward Sisters」（2018）が製作されたが、どちらともシリーズ化はCWが却下している。「スーパーナチュラル」主演であり、番組を知り尽くしたジェンセン・アクレスがどんなプリクエルを見せてくれるのか。「スーパーナチュラル」ロスに悩むファンの願いがきっと叶うと信じたいものだ。
