海外ドラマ最新レポート Vol.372　 2021年の年間TV視聴者数ランキング100　NFL、東京五輪などスポーツ中継が席巻　「NCIS ネイビー犯罪捜査班」は大健闘

米ニールセン社が、2021年の年間TV視聴者数ランキング100を発表した。Youtubeやネットフリックスなどオンラインによる映像配信サービスの成長でTVが冬の時代を迎えている中、リアルタイムでの視聴が求められるスポーツ中継がランキングを席巻する結果となった。
 
第一位は「NFLスーパーボウル中継」。第55回のスーパーボウルは視聴者数9,287万人を記録、アメリカンフットボールの頂上戦は例年通り年間ランキング首位の座を堅持した。米国民のアメフト人気は高く、100番組中、NFL中継が39、大学フットボール中継も3つがランクイン。NBAなどのバスケットボール中継、MLBのワールドシリーズ中継がそれぞれ3つと、他の国民的スポーツを大きく引き離した。コロナ禍で一年延期となった東京五輪中継は、開会式を含む14の番組がランクインした。
 
スポーツ中継が過半数を占めたランキングで、最も健闘した別ジャンルの番組は「NCIS ネイビー犯罪捜査班」。17エピソードがランク入りした。シーズン19に突入したロングランのドラマシリーズは根強いファンに支えられ、安定した数字を稼いでいる。他では、同じくドラマシリーズの「FBI: 特別捜査班」が７エピソード、新シリーズの「The Equalizer（原題）」、ケビン・コスナー主演の「yellowstone（原題）」がそれぞれ２エピソード、そしてこちらもロングランシリーズの「LAW & ORDER：性犯罪特捜班」とそのスピンオフ仲間の「LAW & ORDER: 組織犯罪特捜班」が１エピソードずつと続いている。
 
米ニールセン社が発表した、2021年年間TV視聴者数ランキング100の対象期間は2021年１月１日から12月５日まで。視聴者数はリアルタイム及び7日以内のタイムシフトを合わせた数字となっている。
