海外ドラマ最新レポート Vol.452　 「S.W.A.T.」が再び世界へ シーズン6はタイでロケ

シーズン3第13話「液体らしく」では、東京ロケを敢行した「S.W.A.T.」。シェマー・ムーア率いるホンドー一行の東京での雄姿に歓喜したファンも多いはず。新シーズンとなるシーズン6は、タイが舞台のエピソードでスタートした。 タイでのエピソードは2週（『Thai Hard』、『Thai Another Day』、共に原題）に渡って放送された。
 
この2つのエピソードは「基本的にタイの製作スタッフの手によって完成した」（製作総指揮のポール・バーナード）のだとか。その完成度は素晴らしく、バーナードは「まったく信じられないよ。僕らがどのくらい感銘を受けたか言葉にできないくらいだ。また戻ってくる話が出てるくらいさ」と手放しで喝采。 また「Thai Hard」のエピソードを手がけた脚本家のサラ・オルダーソンも「視覚的な面で素晴らしい。これまでのエピソードとは全く違います」と、現地スタッフによる斬新な映像に驚いたようだ。主演のシェマー・ムーアは、「タイは最高だったよ。僕らとは180度異なるタイプの文化に、美しい景色。人も優しくて礼儀正しかった」と、タイでの撮影を満喫した様子。さらに東京に続く海外ロケについて、「LA市警SWATチームの僕らが、タイまで悪い奴らを追いかけてやってきたのさ。これ以上何を望めっていうんだい？」と、通常のTVシリーズではありえないスケールに胸を張る。 「『S.W.A.T.』はスリリングでアクションのつまった作品なんだ。映画みたいなスケールの作品を、毎週TVで放送している」とシェマー。次はどこに飛び出すか、TVの枠をも飛び出しそうな「S.W.A.T.」に視聴者はこれからも目が離せない。
