海外ドラマ最新レポート Vol.497　 米NBC 「LAW & ORDER」全3シリーズを一気に更新

米NBCが現在放送中の「LAW & ORDER」とスピンオフの2シリーズを含めた全3シリーズを、一気に更新したことが分かった。 新シーズンの放送が決まったのは、オリジナルの「LAW & ORDER」（シーズン23）、スピンオフの「LAW & ORDER: 性犯罪特捜班」（シーズン25）、同じく「LAW & ORDER: 組織犯罪特捜班」（シーズン4）。
 
1990年から放送がスタートしたオリジナルの「LAW & ORDER」は、2010年にシーズン20の放送をもって一旦終了。しかし、スピンオフやフランチャイズの好調、海外での人気もあって、2022年に復活した。米国における夜のロングラン・ドラマシリーズの記録は「LAW & ORDER: 性犯罪特捜班」に譲ったものの、オールドファンを中心に安定感は抜群だ。
 
クリストファー・メローニ主演の「LAW & ORDER: 組織犯罪特捜班」は、「LAW & ORDER」の一話完結型とは異なり、大規模な組織犯罪をシーズンをかけて描く。それだけに人間描写にも深みがあり、見ごたえのあるシリーズとなっている。
 
オリジナルを超え、今や一番人気の「LAW & ORDER: 性犯罪特捜班」。堂々の25シーズン突入の朗報に、オリビア・ベンソン役のマリスカ・ハージティは米誌にコメントを発表した。 「『LAW & ORDER: 性犯罪特捜班』一同を代表して、人間の根本に基づく私たちのストーリーを次のシーズンも語り続けることができ嬉しく思います。シーズンを増すごとに私たち家族は強くなり、勇敢になり、絆は深くなってきました」と主演らしい発言。
 
さらに性犯罪という特殊なテーマに「TVで最も長く放送されているドラマシリーズが、女性のストーリー、社会の中で疎外され傷つけられている人たちのストーリーであることに、私は励まされています。自分は一人じゃないんだ、皆とつながっていると思ってもらえる、その仲間の一員であることは、私にとって最高の贈り物です」と、同シリーズの影響力の強さを謙虚に受け止めている。
 
各シリーズの新シーズンは「LAW & ORDER」と「LAW & ORDER: 性犯罪特捜班」がそれぞれフルとなる22エピソード、「LAW & ORDER: 組織犯罪特捜班」は13エピソードで製作されるという。
