クリストファー・メローニ主演のTVシリーズ「LAW & ORDER: 組織犯罪特捜班」の新シーズン更新が決まった。シーズン5からは米動画配信サービスのPeacockにて新エピソードが提供される。
 
「LAW & ORDER」シリーズファンには待ち焦がれたニュースに違いない。同シリーズの中では最後となった新シーズンの更新。先に更新が決まっていた本家「LAW & ORDER」及び一番人気のスピンオフ「LAW & ORDER: 性犯罪特捜班」より一カ月以上遅れの吉報となった。
SNSでは、NBCから動画配信サービスのPeacockに移動となったことを嘆くファンの声も。Peacockで「LAW & ORDER: 組織犯罪特捜班」を視聴するには、有料プランに加入しなければならないからだ。
 
しかし、Peacockにベースを移すことでクオリティが上がる可能性も大。Peacockのオリジナルシリーズといえば、売れっ子監督のライアン・ジョンソン(『スター・ウォーズ/最後のジェダイ』)が手がける「ポーカー・フェイス」、『テッド』のスピンオフ「テッド ザ・シリーズ」など話題作がずらり。
さらにPeacockはネットフリックスやアマゾン・プライムなど他の配信サービスと同様、地上波より表現の制限が緩和されることで、よりリアルで刺激的な展開も期待できるのだ。
 
新天地で「LAW & ORDER: 組織犯罪特捜班」のパワーアップなるか。「LAW & ORDER」シリーズの進化に期待したい。
