家賃を滞納しているペニーは、大家の姿を見かけシェルドンの部屋に逃げ込んで来る。給料も減り、車の修理代で金欠だと言うペニーに、シェルドンはへそくりからお金を貸す。レナードは、実はペニーが元カレのカートの罰金を肩代わりしたために金欠に陥っていると知り、みんなを誘ってカートの元へお金を取り返しに行く。
