ダニー・ワイルドはニューヨークのスラム街に育ちながら見事に財界のトップに躍り出た実力派の青年。ブレット・シンクレアはイギリスの名門貴族の子弟として生まれ、常に表通りを歩んできた男。この対照的な２人に、ニースのフルトン元判事から招待状が舞い込んだ。２人は対抗意識から派手な殴り合いを演じて警察に逮捕される。ところが連れて行かれたところは判事の別荘。そこで判事からマリアなる女性の素姓の調査を頼まれる。断れば留置所に90日と聞いては断るわけにもいかず、早速マリア探しを始めるが…。
