ジャスティン･ステビンスという若い女性がホテルで殺害された。部屋のゴミ箱にあった美術館とブランチのチケットから、
大学の研究室で働いているロビー･ビッカリーに容疑がかかる。だが捜査が進むうち、実はジャスティンが娼婦だったことが判明。予約に使われていたプリペイド携帯の通話記録から、ロビーと同じ研究室で働く大学院生のアレックス･コンウェイが
新たに容疑者として浮上した。彼はギャンブルの金欲しさに強盗を働いていたのだ。
