人気女優ナタリーは映画の役作りのために体重を十キロ以上増やしていたが、その後体重が元に戻らないままで、ダニエルの初出版号に載るナタリーの写真には大幅に修正が加えられる。ナタリーから意見を求められたベティは、「ありのままでいい」と言おうとするが、ダニエルに睨まれて口をつぐむ。そのダニエルはファイル「ブック」ををデスクの上に置きっぱなしにしたまま帰ってしまい、それを見つけたベティが用心のために自宅へ持ち帰る。しかし、ベティに因縁をつけにきたジーナに「ブック」を奪われ四千ドル要求されてしまう。
