ドラマコラム「LA発！海外ドラマ最新情報」Vol.325　ボブ・オデンカーク、アクション・スリラー映画で製作・主演することに

「ベター・コール・ソウル」のタイトル・ロールを演じているボブ・オデンカークが、アクション・スリラー映画を製作して主演することになった。
 
『Nobody』と題されたこの映画は、オデンカーク演じる主人公の男性がチンピラたちに嫌がらせを受けていた女性を助けるが、その過程で病院送りにしたチンピラたちの1人が麻薬組織のリーダーの弟だったため、報復を狙う麻薬組織のターゲットにされてしまうというストーリーだとのこと。ごく普通に生きてきた平凡な人間が普通ではない状況に巻き込まれるというドラマを演じさせるといぶし銀のように輝くオデンカークには、ピッタリのキャラクターである。
 
脚本を書くことになっているのは、キアヌ・リーヴス主演の映画『ジョン・ウィック』シリーズの脚本家、デレク・コルスタッド。オデンカークは、映画『バトルシップ』を製作総指揮したブレイデン・アフターグッドらと製作も担当する。オデンカークは、「ベター・コール・ソウル」をはじめ、多くのテレビ番組の製作や脚本執筆を務めてきたが、劇場用長編映画の製作を手がけるのは、低予算のインディーズ作品『Melvin Goes To Dinner』（2003）、『ガールフレンドデー』（2017）に次ぐ３作目になる。
