海外ドラマ最新レポート Vol.167　「スタートレック」ユニバース広がる、映画版も４作が製作予定　新作はノア・ホーリー監督がメガホンか？

「スタートレック」ユニバースがさらに広がりを見せている。次の映画版の監督としてノア・ホーリーが映画会社との交渉に入っていると報じられた。
 
『スタートレック』映画版は、2009年にJ・J・エイブラムス監督が同名のリブートを手掛け、新しいファン層を獲得した。エイブラムスは、続けて2013年の『スタートレック　イントゥ・ダークネス』も手掛けた後、リブート３作目の『スタートレック　BEYOND』（2016年）では、『ワイルド・スピード』シリーズのジャスティン・リン監督にメガホンを譲った。2019年に公開が予定されていたリブート４作目は、監督の降板もあり、延期に。配信の「スタートレック　ディスカバリー」が好調なことからも、映画版の動向が注目されていた。
 
ノア・ホーリー監督は、映画『ファーゴ』の同名TV版を製作し、エミー賞を授賞した気鋭のクリエーター。『X-MEN』のスピンオフTVシリーズ「レギオン」も成功させており、クライムサスペンスからマーベルまで、ジャンルを問わない独特の世界観が評価されている。
 
リブート４作目には、クリス・パイン、ザカリー・クイントら、おなじみの面々が集結する予定で、順調にいけば、第５作、第６作も製作される見通しだ。
 
また、第６作までのリブート映画版とは異なるスピンオフとして、クエンティン・タランティーノ監督がメガホンを取る『スタートレック』映画も準備中だとか。タランティーノと『スタートレック』の融合にどんな化学反応が起こるのか、幅広い関心を集めそうな一作だ。
 
映画版だけでも４作品が待機する「スタートレック」ユニバース。TVシリーズ、映画、アニメと、ユニバースはこれからも広がり続ける。
