海外ドラマ最新レポート Vol.565 　「LAW & ORDER: 性犯罪特捜班」のマリスカ・ハージティ、猫を飼う

「LAW & ORDER: 性犯罪特捜班」で主役のオリビア・ベンソン刑事を演じるマリスカ・ハージティが、自身のインスタグラムで猫を飼い始めたことを明かした。
 
マリスカにとって、猫を家族に迎えるのはこれが初めてとのこと。そのシャムの子猫も愛らしいが、SNS界隈をにぎわしているのは、その名前カルマちゃん。

カルマとは、自分が行った行動・態度は自分に帰ってくるというインドの古典語に由来する言葉。また、テイラー・スウィフトが2022年の10月に発表したオリジナルアルバム『ミッドナイツ』から3枚目にシングルカットされた曲名が「カルマ」である。
 
マリスカ、そしてテイラーのファンならご存じだろう、二人の友情を。
 
マリスカは以前、あるアーティストのライブの帰り、テイラーの車で自宅まで送ってもらったことがある。以降、二人は親交を深め、今ではテイラーのライブのステージにマリスカが上がるくらい仲良しになった。
テイラーの猫好きも有名だ。今は3匹の猫を飼っている。そのうちの一匹、スコティッシュフォールドの名前がオリビア・ベンソンちゃん。もともとテイラーが「LAW & ORDER: 性犯罪特捜班」のファンだということから名付けたと言われている。この度のマリスカの飼い猫命名はそのお返しだ。
猫のカルマちゃんのお披露目となったオリビアのインスタでは、写真と共に「カルマは猫」というテイラーの曲「カルマ」の一節が引用されているのだ。
 
マリスカとテイラーの猫越しの交流に双方のファンが即反応。「これでおあいこね!」「オリビア・ベンソンとカルマはいつ顔合わせするの?」「これって史上最高に素敵なことじゃない?」などなど歓迎のコメントであふれている。
さらに、テイラーご本人もコメントを寄せた。「ホントなの～? これ以上仲良しなことってないわね。最高!」と猫の絵文字をつけて喜びをつづっている。
 
TVと音楽。二人の活躍するフィールドは違うものの、お互いが愛猫の名を呼ぶたび、親友の名前を思い出すに違いない。猫を通して発展するスーパースター同士の友情は、これからも長く続いてゆくだろう。
