海外ドラマ最新レポート Vol.595 　「LAW & ORDER」「LAW & ORDER: 性犯罪特捜班」それぞれ新シーズンの更新決まる

米NBCの人気TVドラマシリーズ「LAW & ORDER」「LAW & ORDER: 性犯罪特捜班」が、それぞれ新シーズンを更新したことがわかった。新シーズンは「LAW & ORDER」がシーズン24、「LAW & ORDER: 性犯罪特捜班」がシーズン26となる。
 
両シリーズとも安定した人気キャラクターの存在でファンをひきつけているロングラン番組。それでも近年は大きな変動があった。「LAW & ORDER」の顔的キャラクター、マッコイ地方検事役のサム・ウォーターストンがシーズン23途中で降板、長年のファンを悲しませた。さらに「LAW & ORDER: 性犯罪特捜班」では、ロリンズ刑事を演じるケリー・ギディッシュがシーズン24途中で番組を去った。たびたびゲスト出演しているものの、人気者ロリンズ刑事の本格復帰を願うファンは多い。
 
一方、もう一つの「LAW & ORDER」フランチャイズ、クリストファー・メローニ主演の「LAW & ORDER: 組織犯罪特捜班」には更新の知らせは届かず。
「LAW & ORDER: 組織犯罪特捜班」は現在シーズン4を放送中。まだシーズンが最も浅いシリーズとあってか知名度は今ひとつ、それでもシーズンを通して描かれるNY市警の組織犯罪への取り組みは見ごたえ十分だ。「LAW & ORDER」ユニバースを広げるためにも、シーズンを重ねたいところ。
 
昨年の米俳優組合及び脚本家組合のストライキの影響で、「LAW & ORDER」「LAW & ORDER: 性犯罪特捜班」を含む、ほとんどのTVシリーズの現行シーズンはエピソード数が短縮されている。現行シーズンに物足りなさを感じるファンのためにも、新シーズンのフル回転を願いたいものだ。
