海外ドラマ最新レポート Vol.666 　「WALKER／ウォーカー」ミッチ・ピレッジ、パダレッキ一家に感謝

ジャレッド・パダレッキ主演の「WALKER／ウォーカー」に出演しているミッチ・ピレッジは、出世作の「X－ファイル」始め、海外ドラマファンにはお馴染みの実力派俳優だ。ミッチとジャレッドは、「スーパーナチュラル」以来の再共演。主演スターとの関係を米エンタメサイトで明かしている。
 
「『スーパーナチュラル』に出演して、一番良かったのは、ジャレッド・パダレッキと出会えたことです。初めて会った日のことを覚えていますよ。僕の人生において大切な日の一つになりましたから」
ジャレッドが聞いたら、照れてしまうような嬉しい言葉。主演スター、そして製作総指揮者の一人として、ジャレッドの崇高な人格が伺える。同時に30歳も年下の俳優仲間を素直に応援するミッチの優しさも立派だろう。
 
ジャレッドの責任感の強さ、太っ腹な性格を表す実話があるという。
「(撮影地の)テキサスに大雪が降った時、ジャレッドと(妻の)ジュヌヴィエーヴが僕ら出演者15人を自宅に泊めてくれたのです」
2021年の冬、テキサスを雪嵐が襲った。大規模な発電障害、家に帰ることもままならぬ出演者も現れた。その危機を知り、ジャレッドとジュヌヴィエーヴはなんの躊躇もなく、彼らの避難先として自宅を提供してくれたのだという。
「家に戻れるようになるまで、一週間の間、僕らの世話をしてくれました。その雰囲気こそ、『WALKER／ウォーカー』そのものなんです。これまで経験したことのない素晴らしい関係性、わがままな問題児はいません、トラブルさえもない。最高にハッピーな現場ですよ!」
 
感謝の気持ちはジャレッドの兄弟にも向けられている。
「肩関節の置換手術をしてもらったのです。僕の肩の調子が悪いのを知って、ジャレッドたちは撮影を休ませてくれました。そこでジェフ・パダレッキ医師に肩の手術をお願いしました」
ジャレッドの兄弟、ジェフ・パダレッキ整形外科医は肩や膝のスペシャリスト。テキサス州のオースティンで診察を行っている。
「彼は僕が出会った外科医の中でも最高の仕事をしてくれた一人です。新しい肩をもらって、絶好調ですよ」
 
ジャレッド、その妻、そして兄弟と、パダレッキ一家のお世話になったミッチ。ご恩返しは自身最高の演技で応えるつもりだ。
