ジョージタウンで、時代遅れのドレスを着せられ唇を切り取られた女性の遺体が発見される。失踪から3日後のことで、遺体発見の直前には犯人がローカル新聞に写真を持ち込んでいた。犯人には「ヒル・リッパー」というアダナがつけられ、事件はマスコミの注目を浴びることとなる。
