メルフィは、元夫のリチャードやセラピストのエリオットから、そろそろトニーの治療から手を引くよう勧められる。メルフィもその気になり、トニーに行動療法の医師を紹介しようとする。そんな折、彼女の身に大変な事件が起こる。ニューヨーク・ファミリーのジョニー・サックがニュージャージーに越してきた。仕事に首を突っ込む気はないと言うが、果たして本当か。
