失踪者は美容整形によってレストランの帳簿係から一躍セレブとなったリネット。彼女を生まれ変わらせた美容整形番組「アメリカン・クイーン」のイベント中に姿を消した。彼女の行方を追うジャックたちは、外見を変えても消すことのできないコンプレックスに苛まれていた彼女の苦悩を知る。そんな中、リネットと同時期にうつ病で入院していた男の存在が捜査線上に浮かび上がる。
