海外ドラマ最新レポート Vol.282　 「ブラックリスト」早くもシーズン9の更新決定

米NBCのクライム・ドラマシリーズ「ブラックリスト」が、次シーズンとなるシーズン9の更新を決めた。「ブラックリスト」は米でシーズン8を放送中。更新が分かったのは、まだ同シーズン第3話が放送されたばかりの1月下旬だ。NBCは安定した人気を確認した上で、早々の更新を決めたようだ。
 
2013年にシリーズがスタートした「ブラックリスト」は、映画『セックスと嘘とビデオテープ』『クラッシュ』、TVシリーズ「ザ・プラクティス」「ボストン・リーガル」などの演技派ジェームズ・スペイダーを主演に据え、同年の新ドラマを話題性で圧倒。シーズンを重ねて、NBCでは2016年スタートの「THIS IS US 36歳、これから」と並ぶ、エース格のシリーズに成長した。
 
とはいえ近年のリアルタイムでのTV視聴者数の低下は人気シリーズとて例外ではない。「ブラックリスト」も放送当時と比べ、徐々にではあるが視聴者数を減らしている。しかし、放送時間帯である金曜夜8時において、依然として「ブラックリスト」はナンバーワン。ロングラン・シリーズとして一定の視聴者を掴んでいる。
 
また、ビンジウォッチング派にはネットフリックス配信でも好評。米国外の多くの国々でTV放映されていることでも知られる。こうしたオンライン配信サービス、海外市場に対して高い収益が見込めることも、更新を続ける理由の一つであるようだ。
 
「ブラックリスト」シーズン9の放送開始時期、エピソード数などはまだ明らかになっていない。
