ストーリー
「復讐の絵画」：嫌われ者のジェレミーは叔父を秘密裏に殺害し、まんまと遺産を引き継ぐが、屋敷の壁に飾られた風景画に奇妙な変化が起こっていることに気づく……。 「アイズ」：盲目の富豪メンローは美術品のコレクションを自分の目で鑑賞するのが夢だった。なんとしてもその夢をかなえたい彼女は……。 「絵になった男」：元ナチの戦犯ヨゼフは戦後、南米に潜伏していたが、追跡者の手は目前に迫っていた。どうにかして逃れたい彼は……。

SFアンソロジー・ドラマの金字塔「ミステリーゾーン」の生みの親であるロッド・サーリングが、再び超常現象をテーマとするアンソロジー・ドラマに挑んだシリーズを字幕版日本初放送（ただしパイロット版のみチャンネル初放送）。サーリングは「ミステリーゾーン」同様、本作でも脚本とホスト役を務めており、「ミステリーゾーン」以外のロッド・サーリング脚本作が楽しめる非常に重要な作品となっている。本作は、60分（パイロット版は120分）の中で、2本あるいは3本の魅力的だが背筋の凍るような短編を放送するというオムニバス形式をとっている。
日本では「怪奇！真夏の夜の夢」と題して放送された本作のパイロット版では、3本の短編の中の1本「アイズ」を、当時まだ20代のスティーブン・スピルバーグが監督。日本では残念ながら放送時にカットされてしまったこの「アイズ」は、「刑事コロンボ/構想の死角」や「激突！」よりも前となる彼のプロデビュー作である。
