海外ドラマ最新レポート Vol.52　「スタートレック：ディスカバリー」新シーズンまで待てない？４つの短編シリーズ米配信日が決定

好評の「スタートレック：ディスカバリー」は、シーズン4が2019年1月に配信開始予定だが、それでも待ちきれないファンのために、4つの短編シリーズ「Star Trek : Short Treks（原題）」の米での配信開始日が決定した。
 
4つのシリーズ「Star Trek : Short Treks（原題）」は、それぞれ独立したエピソードで、4人のキャラクターが各エピソードの主役を演じる。一エピソードあたり、10分から15分の短編となる。
 
4人のキャラクターは、「スタートレック：ディスカバリー」ファンにはおなじみのティリー（メアリー・ワイズマン）、サルー（ダグ・ジョーンズ）、ハリー・マッド（レイン・ウィルソン）、そして新キャラクターのクラフトで、こちらは「レバレッジ～詐欺師たちの流儀」のオルディス・ホッジが演じる。
 
「Star Trek : Short Treks（原題）」の各エピソードのサブタイトルとあらすじは以下の通り。米では、CBSの映像配信サービス CBS All Accessにて、10月から毎月1エピソードずつ配信される予定。
 
「Runaway（原題）」　10月4日配信
USSディスカバリー乗船中、ティリー少尉は予期せぬ来訪者たちから助けを求められる。彼らは見た目からは想像もつかなかった、ある事情をかかえていた。
 
「Calypso（原題）」　11月8日配信
目覚めたクラフトは、なぜか自分だけが廃棄された艦船に乗せられていることに気づく。残されたコンピューター画面のA.I.だけが、彼の脱出への希望となりうるものだった。
 
「The Brightest Star（原題）」　12月6日配信
ケルピアンとして初めて宇宙艦隊の一員となったサルー。若きサルーは、彼が生まれたケルピアンの惑星で家族とともに穏やかな暮らしを送っていた。やがて仲間内でも並外れた聡明さと好奇心を持つサルーは、生まれ育った惑星の外にある世界を夢見ていた。
 
「The Escape Artist（原題）」　1月3日配信
天才詐欺師ハリー・マッドが、凝りもなくペテンの才能を見せつける。今度の舞台は決して彼を歓迎するムードではない、居心地の悪い艦船の中。ハリー・マッド最新の騙しのテクニックをご覧あれ！　このエピソードは、ハリー・マッドを演じるレイン・ウィルソンが、監督も務めている。
