実在のカリスマ・プロデューサー、ラリー・デイヴィッドの揉め事まみれの日常を自らが演じるユニークでシニカルなフェイク・ドキュメンタリー･コメディ。
ゴルフをしに行ったラリー、ジェフ、リチャードの3人。そこで、昨夜開かれたマーティ･ファンクハウザーのパーティーの話題になる。ラリーは今晩がテッド･ダンソンのパーティーで、2日連続でパーティーに行きたくないため、ファンクハウザーのパーティーに行かなかった。ラリーはパーティーへ行かなかった言い訳として、今夜ファンクハウザーの家に行ってパーティーの日を間違えたフリをするアイデアを思いつく。その晩、テッドのパーティーへ向かう途中、ハリケーンのニュースを見たシェリルは、家を失った家族を自分たちの家に呼んで滞在させようとラリーに提案する。だがラリーは乗り気ではない。
