実在のカリスマ・プロデューサー、ラリー・デイヴィッドの揉め事まみれの日常を自らが演じるユニークでシニカルなフェイク・ドキュメンタリー･コメディ。
シェリルのおば、ルイーズが亡くなった。葬儀が行われ、フロリダからシェリルの両親、妹ベッキー、その彼氏クレイグ、その他親戚らがやってきた。葬儀後ラリーはクレイグから、「訃報がある直前に別れ話をするつもりだった」と聞かされる。「別れ話を切り出すのをいつまで待てばいいか」と相談され、フロリダに帰ってから、と助言する。 ルイーズの死亡記事を、ジェフの新聞社の友人に頼んで載せることにする。ラリーが原稿を書いて出したが、翌日新聞にはとんでもない誤植が…。

電話での失言を聞かれたり、ポルノビデオを見ているところを目撃されたりとジェフの両親に嫌われているラリー。名誉挽回の為にプレゼントするも、裏目に出てしまう…。
