アリゾナ州ウィンズローの病院で、1年以上昏睡状態だった男アダムが突然目を覚ます。3か月後、ウィンズローで連続殺人事件が発生。被害者はアダムとよく似た男性で、2人目の被害者は恋人と一緒に拉致されたようだが、女性は依然行方不明のまま。遺体の首の傷から被害者は何度も吊し首にされ、また、生きたまま手足の関節が外されていたこともわかる。
