シアトルで連続殺人が発生。被害者は儀式用と思われるナイフでメッタ切りにされての失血死で、現場には「悪を聞き、悪を見る」というメッセージが残されていた。被害者2人の唯一の共通点から、自己啓発セミナーで世界的に有名なバリー・フリンの名が浮上する。ところが今度はそのフリン自身が誘拐される。
