自家用クルーザーでフロリダへ向かった母親と子供たちが行方不明になり、漂流していたクルーザー上で船長スコット・ウィンターズが遺体で発見される。行方不明になったのは、企業買収で巨万の富を築いたベン・パーマーの妻エリカ、娘ハーリー、息子マットだった。エリカは仕事ばかりで家族を顧みないベンに不満を持ち、夫から距離を置くために、子供たちを連れてフロリダへ向かう途中だった。クルーザーを検分したマーティンとサマンサは、そこで沿岸警備隊員ステファニーと会い、彼を不審に思う。
