シカゴのダイナーで16歳の少年ギャヴィンが突然発砲し3人を殺害。その後たまたま居合わせた非番の警官に射殺される。ギャヴィンは4年前に失踪し、行方不明児童として登録されていた。その後、彼を店まで車で送ったのが同じく失踪中のトレヴァーであることが判明。2人は年が同じで、24時間の間に相次いで消えていた。
