ワシントン州で姿を消した若者が、アイダホ州のボイジー国有林で他殺体となって発見されるが、これに酷似した事件が１年前にも発生していた。いずれの遺体も胸を貫かれていたが銃弾は落ちておらず、必死で逃げ回ったような痕跡があった。捜査協力を依頼されたＢＡＵは、犯人が弓矢を使ったハンターだろうと推理する。
