大学時代の友人サラを自宅に招いて食事することになっていたギデオンは、帰りが遅れたおわびに花束を買うことに。そこへホッチから電話があり、臨時の査定が行われることになったが、自分のファイルだけ提出を求められておらず、リストラの対象に考えられているのではと不安をぶつけられる。その時、通りの向こうに、シリアル・キラー、フランクとともに姿を消したはずのジェーンを見かけ、ギデオンは驚愕する。
