カリフォルニア州チュラヴィスタで少女の遺体が発見される。これは18時間前に失踪した２人の少女のうちの一人ケイティだった。残る行方不明者リンジーの自宅を訪れたリード、ロッシ、モーガンは、リンジーの部屋が10代の少女らしからぬ殺伐としたものであることに気づく。２人暮らしの父親ジャックに虐待を受けていたのではと疑いを向けると、ジャックは激昂する。
