２年前から突然ストーカーにつきまとわれるようになった弁護士のケリーは、半年前にアトランタからメリーランド州シルバースプリングに引っ越し、恋人のライアンと暮らし始める。しばらく穏やかな日々が続いていたが、ある日再びストーカーからの手紙が玄関先に届く。警察から「何か起きるまでは対処できない」と言われ、業を煮やしたケリーは直接ＦＢＩに助けを求める。
